Offering Christ's hope to youth and families
for over 50 years, in northern Canada and beyond.

Rose Carr

As a young girl I dreamed of serving on a mission field. Growing up next door to a First Nations community exposed me to the Native American Culture and sparked my interest in reaching out to them. Answering the call to serve here at Northern Youth Programs has been a dream come true and continues to increase my longing to be a tool God can use to build His Kingdom here in the North.

I joined the team at Headquarters in February 2016 as Domestics. Cooking and cleaning for the single staff and guests pretty much summed it up. In August I transitioned to the Business Office to fill
the Bookkeeping Role. Entering Purchase Invoices, Processing Payroll, Paying Bills, Doing Deposits, and Creating Budget Reports are some of my major responsibilities.

I'm grateful for God's Faithfulness in my life. The way He brought me here and then on to the office is truly a sign that He cares about the big and little details in my life. I love the beauty of nature and being outdoors. The call of a loon, the flash of Northern Lights across the sky, a gorgeous sunset, or an eagle in flight are special reminders to me of how great God is and how privileged I am to be His child.

Being involved in ministry opportunities such as Eagle Lake Sunday School, Youth Retreats, and visiting Northern Communities are some of my highlights.

My hobbies include crocheting, gardening, singing, hunting, fishing, and doing things together as a team. My definition of “relax” could be taking a walk or sitting on the dock or in a tree stand.

Dear God, I long to be like You. Help me to be Your hands and feet to everyone I come in contact with. My desire is to glorify You in everything I do. Thank you for giving me wisdom and strength to do the work You have called me to do. Amen.
