Biography

I joined the NYP staff team in 1982. Since 1991 I have served as Clair and Clara’s administrative assistant doing general office work, assisting in planning ministry trips, and travelling with them to First Nations and Inuit communities across the Northland. As the discipleship/counselling training began in the late 1990s, I added keeping the school records and preparing the materials for the ten-course program to my job description. In 2001 I finished counsellor’s training, and travelled with Clair and Clara on the trip to Greenland in October 2001. The years of ministry in Greenland from 2001 through 2013 were a real highlight. While we are no longer travelling to Greenland, I stay in touch with the Greenlandic leaders as they develop their discipleship training ministry, answering “how to” questions and providing support long-distance. I continue to assist with the Basic Counselling Healing the Pain of the Heart Course and the Ten-Course Program in Canada. I am excited to be part of the training program among Native and Inuit peoples as they learn skills to help their own peoples. I am blessed by friendships with many people across the Northland.

Prayer

As I sit with your daughters, listening to their stories, may I ever direct them to you, the Wonderful Counsellor, the Prince of Peace. And as I answer phone calls, emails and letters, may I share your Words of Life and Truth.
